Book Review: The Sweet Smell of Magnolias and Memories, by Celeste Fletcher McHale

The Sweet Smell of Magnolias and Memories by [McHale, Celeste Fletcher]

Hello again, everyone. Tonight finds us in a new book review and this time it’s The Sweet Smell of Magnolias and Memories, by Celeste Fletcher McHale.

This novel tells the story Jacey and Colin, a young couple who spins a tale of how they’re loved blossomed in their teenage years in the Mississippi floodwaters that surrounded their small town home.

Jacey knew Colin was the love of her life—until her rescue boat went under water, along with Colin’s last name and the largest pieces of Jacey’s memory. This book tells the story of how these sweet teenagers find one another again in the most unexpected of ways.

This book will make an excellent summer read and would be suitable for both study groups and gift giving as well.
